Greek Week is known as one of the most exciting weeks in the life of the Greek Community at Iowa State. This year, Greek Week will be taking place beginning on March 27th, with the Greek Week awards ceremony on April 3rd.
Throughout the week there are various tournaments for members of different chapters to get involved in, such as TREDS, Volleyball, Dodgeball, Basketball, Trivia Blast and Olympics. Getting involved and volunteering with tournaments during Greek Week is a great opportunity to get to know our team and other Greek Community members. This past Greek Week we were paired with the men of Delta Upsilon and Phi Kappa Tau.
The Saturday of Greek Week is what's known as Greek Olympics. This is a great event where the entire Greek community comes together and competes in events such as Dingle Dangle Donut, Bed Races, Egg Joust, Tug of War and other crazy fun competitions!
Service is also a huge part of Greek Week at Iowa State. Polar Bear Plunge takes place on the Saturday evening after Olympics, and in order to take the plunge into Lake LaVerne, each member of every chapter raises money for the Special Olympics of Iowa. Last year, the Greek community raised $184,000 for this great cause, and we hope to match that donation this year!
